Teaching
My approach to teaching, learning, and assessment activities involves challenging students to think critically about the role of digital technologies in contemporary organisations. My teaching combines theory, research, practical application, and discussion-based learning, with a particular focus on helping students develop the knowledge, analytical skills, and confidence needed to understand and evaluate digital systems in organisational settings. I take an inclusive and student-centred approach that recognises the diverse educational, professional, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds students bring to the classroom. I also internationalise my teaching by encouraging students to examine digital business, technology adoption, and organisational change across different national, sectoral, and cultural contexts.
A central part of my teaching approach is preparing students for professional practice. I use a range of assessment methods, including consultancy reports, presentations, portfolios, reflective tasks, online activities, live projects, case analysis, and applied consultancy-style assignments. This enables students to connect academic ideas to organisational problems, professional contexts, and workplace decision-making, while supporting an accessible, engaging, and professionally relevant learning experience.
Programme, curriculum, and module leadership
I have extensive experience in programme leadership, curriculum development, and module leadership across undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship provision. I served as Programme Director for the IT Consultancy Pathway within the BSc (Hons) Digital Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship. Under my leadership, the IT Consultancy Pathway became the highest-ranking pathway on the programme, scoring 100% on the National Student Survey. I also contributed to the programme gaining Chartered IT Professional accreditation from the British Computer Society.
My wider leadership includes international collaborative provision leadership for Liverpool Business School’s partnership with Oryx University in Doha, Qatar, where I oversaw partner provision and the student experience across three postgraduate programmes. I have also led curriculum development across multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the MSc Management and Digital Business, MSc International Business Management, MSc Digital Technology Solutions Apprenticeship, MSc Business Analytics, BSc Business Technology, and BSc Digital Technology Solutions Apprenticeship.
